PR-12 Exhibit 71 27
4.4.2.4 Springygy 1
Spring 15-1 is located on the west side of an unnamed drainage tributary to the North Fork of the Gunnison River
between Sylvester Gulch and Box Canyon (Map 1). This spring is north of the Box Canyon panels. The spring
issues from alluvium and water is present only during peak flow months. Monitoring at this spring began in
1996.
4.4.2.5 Spring G-1 a
Spring G-la is located in Sylvester Gulch on the west side of the drainage, north of the Box Canyon panel area
(Map 1). It issues from alluvium and is seasonal with moisture present only during periods of snow melt or peak
flow. Monitoring at this spring began in 1983.
4.4.2.6 Spring G-20
Spring G-20 is located in middle Sylvester Gulch on the east side of the drainage. It is located north of the Box
Canyon panels and east of the mine facilities (Map 1). It issues'from alluvium or landslide material and disperses
water through a grassy area. Monitoring at this spring began in 1979.
4.4.3 Springs above the B Seam hr the Jumbo Mountain Area in the North Fork
Drainage Basin
4.4.3.1 Spring CR_12
Spring CR-12 is located in Lone Pine Gulch north of the NW mine panels (Map 1). It issues from alluvium on
the south side of the gulch. This is a perennial spring, but the volume of flow diminishes in summer and autumn.
It is recommended that this monitoring station be deleted from the hydrologic monitoring plan, because mining
activities have moved well east of the Jumbo Mountain area and there have been no measurable mining-induced
impacts at this site. Monitoring at this spring began in 2000.
4.4.3.2 Spring G-26a
Spring G-26a is located in Lone Pine Gulch north of the NW mine panels (Map 1). This spring issues from
alluvium and flows into a small pond. This spring is seasonal and flow only occurs during peak flow conditions.
It is recommended that this monitoring station be deleted from the hydrologic monitoring plan, because mining
activities have moved well east of the Jumbo Mountain area and there have been no measurable mining-induced
impacts at this site. Monitoring at this spring began in 2000.
4.4.3.3 Suring G-28a
Spring G-28a is located in a north tributary to Gribble Gulch (Map 1). It is above the western-most panels in the
NW mine panels. This spring issues from alluvium and is seasonal. Flow usually occurs during peak flow and
accutnulates in a stock pond. It is recommended that this monitoring station be deleted from the hydrologic
monitoring plan, because mining activities have moved well east of the Jumbo Mountain area and there have been
no measurable mining-induced impacts at this site. Monitoring at this spring began in 2000.
September 2007 FlpdroGeo, Ire.
