(MAC) cultural resources report for nine coreholes associated with
Cow Camp Project Notice of Intent (NOI) No. X-2008-229-01. MAC :-reports that no cultural
resources were recorded during the investigation and recommends' a finding of "no historic
properties affected" and indicates that no further work is necessary for this project pertaining to
cultural resources.
These coreholes represent Phase II and Phase III exploration locations. Coreholes ccu028, ccu029
and ccu032 make up Phase 11; coreholes ccu025, ccuo27. ccuo03O. ccu031 and ccu033 are Phase III
coreholes. Corehole 012 was previously surveyed and the results documented in the MAC report
dated December 18, 2007. Several corehole locations surveyed by MAC on June 10, 2008 are
slightly different than the location presented in Table 1 of the April 18, 2008 submittal. The
locations were moved at the request of the landowner and, generally, to improve access. The
following table summarizes the revised locations. MAC surveyed the "new" locations during its
June 10, 2008, fieldwork.
SUMMARY OF COR EHOLE LOCATION CHANGES
Corehole
ID Old Quarter
Quarter New Quarter
Quarter Distance Moved and
Direction
ccu027 NW/4 SW/4 NW/4 SW/4 about 600 ft to the SW
ccu028 NW/4 NE/4 NE/4 NE/4 about 550 ft to the W
ccu031 NE/4 NW/4 SW/4 NE/4 about 1,500 ft to the SE
ccu032 NE/4 SW/4 SE/4 NW/4 about 1,300 ft to the N
ccu 033 SW/4 SEA SW/4 SE/4 about 1,000 ft to the S
Note: Township and range, as well as surface ownership and coal ownership remained
the same for all coreholes.
P.O.
