(DRM&S Permit #
M-2008-022t
, - onditions for Approval, Office of the State Engineer and Gravel Pit
Well Application, Division of Water Resources.
Dear Ms. Love:
Please find below the applicants comments and attachments in response to your 1
Conditions for Approval Letter of 5/13/08 and comments and attachments in response
to our telephone conversation and your letter of 5/23/08 concerning the Gravel Pit
Well Permit Application. Also find attached copy of a revised location map and field
notes from the site inspection.
The applicant, Mr. Russ Means, DRM&S, Mr. Nathan Green, USACOE, and I inspected
the site on 5/6/08. Some possible small wetland patches in thin veneer hydrologic soil
were observed during the inspection and the well location was noted. A wetland
delineation is being done on the site for the COE and the (possible) wetland areas have
been removed from the pond footprint areas as shown on the attached maps. Removing
these areas will reduce final pond(s) W.S. area to an estimated +/- 30 acres.
In response to your 5/13/08 Conditions for Approval Letter please find the following:
1. The proposed operation will expose groundwater and consume groundwater by
water removed in the mined product and water surface evaporation. Secondary
onsite processing is not planned. The 62 acre parcel has no attached water rights
and any water needed for site operations and/or dust abatement will be from an
offsite source.
