Footnotes -(Applicable to Preceding Pages) <br /> a/ - The thirty (30) day average shall be determined by the arithmetic <br /> mean of three (3) samples collected in separate calendar weeks <br /> during a thirty (30) consecutive-day period with a minimum of 20 <br /> • days occurring between the first and last sample days (not <br /> applicable to fecal coliform). <br /> b/ - The seven (7) day average shall be determined by the arithmetic <br /> mean of a minimum of three samples taken on separate days in a <br /> seven (7) day period (not applicable to fecal coliform). <br /> c/ - This limitation shall be determined by a single sample or set of <br /> samples as required by Part I B, Sample Type. <br /> d/ - When the measurement frequency indicated is quarterly, the <br /> samples shall be collected during March, June, September and <br /> December, if a continual discharge occurs. If the discharge is <br /> • intermittent, then samples shall be collected during the period <br /> that discharge occurs. If the permittee, using the approved <br /> analytical methods, monitors any, parameter more frequently than <br /> required by this permit, then the results of such monitoring <br /> shall be included in the calculation and reporting of the values <br /> required in the Discharge Monitoring Report Form or other forms <br /> as required by the Division. Such increased frequency shall also <br /> be indicated. <br /> e/ - Definitions of Sample Type <br /> 1. A "composite" sample, for monitoring requirements, is a <br /> minimum of four (4) grab samples collected at equally spaced <br /> two (2) hour intervals and proportioned according to flow. <br /> 2. A "grab" sample, for monitoring requirements, is a single <br /> "dip and take" sample. <br /> 3. An "instantaneous" measurement, for monitoring requirements, <br /> is a single reading, observation, or measurement performed on <br /> site. <br /> 4. A "continuous" measurement, for flow monitoring requirements, <br /> is a measurement obtained from an automatic recording device <br /> which continually measures flow. <br /> 5. A "visual" observation, for oil and grease monitoring <br /> requirements, is observing the discharge to check for the <br /> presence of a visible sheen or floating oil. <br /> Amended <br />
