9. Permit Term Information <br />Eastside Coal Company, Inc. is actively engaged in reclamation only at the coal mine on the site. <br />The surface facilities and portal area were put in place under the earlier exploration approval <br />(Permit No. CX-186-00). The underground mine workings completed under this exploration <br />approval are shown on the Exploration Map (HGP-3). <br />The starting date of activities under this permit was the approval date of the application. <br />Underground mining activities continued up to 1995 at which time mining ceased. The <br />proposed mining sequence prior to ceasing underground activities ins shown on the Mine Map <br />(Map HGP-4). <br />The first term of this permit was a five (5) year period which commenced upon the acceptance <br />of the performance bond by the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation division. The performance <br />bond in the amount of $40,000 was accepted by the Colorado Mined Land Division. The permit <br />term commenced January 14, 1985 and expired January 13, 1990. <br />The renewal term of this permit is a five (5) year period following the expiration of the 2'd term. <br />The renewal term will commence January 14, 2000 and expire January 13, 2005. <br />Mining ceased and reclamation commenced in 1995. The mine is presently in a reclamation <br />only status. <br />14
