i
2
the coal cleat. It should also be noted that this problem was seen
during this office's quarterly mine inspection and it does indeed
exist as stated in the technical revisions request.
2. ) In the second paragraph of the new mining sequence description it is
stated that the sump in the east end of the south sub mains will be
completed by the end of 1985. This may not be possible since part of
this area lies in an unpermitted subsurface lease. . Approval of the
submitted technical revisions package does not give permission to
complete the part of the sump which is contained in coal lease
C-0126669. This area may only be developed if the appropriate R2P2
package is approved. With the consideration of this stipulation, the
new mining sequence description and the mining sequence map submitted
for the D-Seam is acceptable.
3. ) The reorientation of the B-B/C-seam (or B Seam) is also acceptable
provided that when the B-B/C-Seam information is submitted it will
include the same information that was contained in the D-Seam
submittal . For example, the tonnages shown in the various tables
will undoubtedly change and therefore must be revised. Reference may
be made to the D-Seam submittal to expedite matters.
4. ) The newly revised text and tables which include coal with a thickness
of 28 inches or greater in calculations determining in-place coal
reserves is well presented and conforms to 43 CFR 3480.0-5.
5.) The approval given by this office is not final approval but only in
regard to the R2P2. Western Fuels Association Inc. was adivsed that
before any reorientation development may begin all other necessary
approvals from various offices must be obtained.
If there are any questions in regard to this letter, please contact Dean
Warne of this office.
Sincerely,
District Manager
cc: CMLRD - Greg Squire
OSM - Richard Holbrook
•
