RULE 2.04.8 -CLIMATOLOGICAL INF012MATION <br />• (I) When requested by the Division, the application shall contain a statement of the climatoloeical <br />factors that are representative of theproposed permit area, including: <br />(a) The mean monthly precipitation; <br />(b) The averaee direction and velocih~ of the urevailine winds; and <br />(c) Mean monthly temperature and temperature ranges. <br />(2) The Division may for ~zood cause shown request additional climatoloeical data as deemed <br />necessary to ensure compliance with the requirements of 2.04.8. <br />(3) Permit applications may comply with these requirements reaardine seasonal variabilih~ of <br />climatoloeical factors without the collection of data coverine 12 consecutive months if accurate statistical <br />procedures, approved by the Division, are used to extrapolate frwn a data base covering a shorter period of time. <br />RESPONSE <br />The closest active reporting stations to the proposed permit area are at Steamboat Springs, Colorado, which is about <br />15 miles northeast of the area and at Hayden, Colorado, which is about 10 miles northwest of the area. <br />Approximately 80 years of meteorological data have been collected by the United States Departrnent of Commerce <br />in Steamboat Springs while nearly 52 years of similar data have been collected <br /> <br />• <br />}tpPROVED APR 2 4 2000 <br />Permit Renewal No. 3 2.04-44 4/l(94 <br />
