• postmining land use at the Edna Mine. It should be realized that the
anticipated and potential uses described here may not be inclusive of all
the actual final functions which these facilities may serve. In some
instances, the following discussion may suggest a specific use for a given
facility or area which may eventually serve for some other purpose.
However, it is believed that all of the areas designated for retention will
provide some functional service to the postmining land use.
The buildings to be retained as commercial land use (Exhibit 3.6-7)
have the potential to provide storage and working space as follows:
Shop/Maintenance Building - This building has the potential to
provide several functions. The portion of the building currently
containing maintenance bays may be used for large equipment storage
such as: farm tractors for haying, seeding and fence maintenance
operations, backhoes for utility line, water line, pond, road, ditch
and culvert maintenance; various sizes or numbers of trucks for in-
field use and commodity haulage; and dozers and graders for road or
• drainage maintenance. Additionally, this section of the building may
be used for hay storage. The number of bay doors enables hay of
differing quality to be segregated by grade for specialized uses or
marketing purposes.
The warehouse portion of the building is anticipated or has the
potential to continue to be used as storage. The types of items most
likely to be stored in this area include: equipment parts, fencing
materials, specialized feeds (i.e., oats, specialized grains, etc.),
salt blocks, seed for haying operations, and other consumables
requiring protection from the weather.
The shop portion of the building is anticipated or has the
potential to continue to be used for equipment repair and/or
reconditioning. The offices located within the building may be used
for office space, living quarters, meeting areas, file storage or
other miscellaneous storage.
Truck Barn - This facility is anticipated or has the potential to be
. used for storage of farming implements that require only minimal
inclement weather storage. Equipment contemplated for storage in
TR-37 3.6-12 September 11, 1997
