Chapter V
topsoil is hauled and stored in areas using
techniques approved by CMLRD.
•
b. Topsoil Stockpile.
Topsoil will be stockpiled in an area that will not be redisturbed during the life of
mining operations until the material can be used for final reclamation. Stockpiles will
be posted with TOPSOIL signs. Stockpiles will then be seeded with a temporary
cover crop in order to stabilize the fill from wind and water erosion. All seeding will
be done during the first fall after stockpiling. These stockpiles, when necessary, will
also be protected by perimeter diversion ditches designed to convey the peak flow
from the 10 year/24 hour storm event.
EXISTING TOPSOIL STOCKPILES.
Sutey Refuse Disposal Site (1) (2)*
Old Refuse Pile (1)
Adit/Rock Tunnel (2) (1)*
#1 Portal Ponds (2)
Overland Conveyor (1)
District Office (1)
• Additional storage sites have been approved.
All topsoil storage piles have been seeded.
APPROVED TEMPORARY SEED MIX FOR TOPSOIL STOCKPILES
Forbs Seeding Rate.
lbs.
