Chapter V <br /> The Backfill and Grading Plan for the Preparations Plant Area is to utilize the <br /> following materials: <br /> Preparation Plant - Thermal Dryer <br /> (Cross-section A-A) <br /> 40,000 cu. yds. +/- rubble from wash plant <br /> 54,000 cu. yds. +/- coal refuse <br /> 6,000 cu. yds. +/-topsoil <br /> Total: 100,000 cu. yds. <br /> Bathhouse and Engineering Area <br /> (Cross-section A-B) <br /> 10,500 cu.yds. +/- rubble bath/eng. area <br /> 10,000 cu. yds. +/- coal refuse <br /> 1,500 cu. yds. +/-topsoil <br /> Total: 22,000 cu. yds. <br /> Savage Shop and Yard Area <br /> (Cross-section C-C) <br /> 10,800 +/- cu. yds. cut and fill <br /> plus some rubble from Savage Shop <br /> 1,200 +/- cu. yds. topsoil <br /> Total: 12,000 cu. yds. <br /> See App. V-E-3 for the approved Prep. Plant Area Backfilling and Grading Plan. <br /> e. Sutey Refuse Disposal Area. <br /> Conveyor belts will be removed at the conclusion of mining, and when no longer <br /> needed for transport of material. <br /> Permanent slopes of the pile will be reclaimed by final grading, topsoil placement <br /> and revegetation. <br /> After the slopes have stabilized, varying depths of topsoil will be distributed on the <br /> permanent slopes, placed according to aspect, with 12-18 inches on north and east <br /> slopes, 18 to 24 inches on west and 24 to 30 inches on the south slopes. <br /> Seeding and planting of permanent slopes will be done during the first normal <br /> period for favorable planting (normally late fall --October and November). The <br /> special Sutey mix (list attached) will be broadcast seeded at 30 lbs/acre. <br /> Suitable mulch and/or other soil stabilizing practices will be used promptly, with <br /> straw mulch broadcast at 1-1/2 to 2 tons per acre on all regraded and topsoiled <br /> areas to reduce erosion and promote germination of seeds. <br /> 26 <br />
