MINING PLAN AND SCHEDULE
Mid-Continent Resources will mine seven longwall panels in No. 3 Mine to
demonstrate multi-lift mining methods in a thick coal seam. The top lift of
each panel will be mined first using .the advancing method. The bottom lifts
will be mined approximately two years after mining of the overlying upper
lift when gob consolidation is complete. The lower lift panels will be mined
using the retreating method.
The mining schedule for the three lifts that are to be monitored for
subsidence is given in the following table. Scheduled mining time for com-
pletion of the three lifts is 61 months.
