i
5. The effects of depth and mining geometry on subsidence
6. The visible effects of subsidence on the ground surface for this
given environment. ,,
Task III - Instrument Installlation
Mine Subsidence Engineering Company proposes to install the subsidence
monuments in June, July and August of 1981. Monuments will be installed by a
supervisor and a three-man crew working six days a week. Both men and ,
materials will be flown in on a weekly basis using a helecopter.
It is anticipated that the monument net will be installed before subsi-
dence from mining the upper lift of panel 302 reaches the surface even though
panel 302 will begin mining in May of 1981. This is a consequence of the
depth of cover over the panel . The locations of the perpendicular lines
will also help insure that ,no subsidence data is lost.
Task IV - Monitoring
The severe winter climate will restrict monitoring of the proposed subsi-
dence net to the time period between July 15 and September 15. The proposed
subsidence monitoring schedule is outlined beloa. The entire survey net %:till
be monitored for each survey indicated.
PROPOSED SUBSIDENCE MONITORING SCHEDULE -
Lift 1981 1982 1983 10-84 1985 1986
301 L I II II AAA FFF F
302 I AA AA FFF FFF F
302 L I
II II III AAA F
I - Initial Survey
• A - Active Survey
F - Final Survey
-12-
