6.3.1 EXHIBIT A - Leeal Description and Location Mau
A.) On page three of the original application packet, item number 11 asks for the primary
mine entrance location in latitude or longitude or Universal Transverse Mercator units.
In the application you reported that the mine entrance is at a latitude of 89 degrees, 54
minutes and 53 seconds North, and 0 degrees, 3 minutes and 3 seconds West. Based off
the legal description in Exhibit A, these measures appear to be the actual bearings of the
permit boundary and not the latitude and longitude of the mine entrance. Please find the
coordinates for the primary mine entrance and report them in either Latitude and
Longitude or UTM units in accordance with Rule 6.3.1.
B.) The Location Map must be a standard 1:24000 scale U.S. Geological Survey map.
The map must display the location of the affected land on the ground with existing and
proposed roads or access routes to be used in connection with the mining operation.
6.3.2 EXHIBIT B - Site Description
This section is adequate as submitted.
6.3.3 EXHIBIT C - Mining Plan
A.) Given the intermittent nature of the mining operation it seems that the topsoil will be
stockpiled for long periods of time. The topsoil stockpiles will need to be stabilized with
vegetative cover or other means until it is used for reclamation. This is done to preserve
the pile from wind and water erosion and overall soil degradation. Please provide a
topsoil stabilization plan in accordance with Rule 6.3.3 and Rule 3.1.9.
B.) Please specify the thickness of the deposit to be mined. Please specify the thickness
of the overburden to be removed and piled.
C.) Exhibit E shows a proposed access road to the site. Does a road already exist in this
proposed location? If so, will any improvements be made to the road, or will you be
building a new road. If the road will be newly constructed or substantially upgraded, it
must be included in the permit acreage, the dimension and design for the road must be
submitted, and a plan to reclaim the road after mining is completed shall be submitted as
well.
D.) Will there be a designated area for processing the material with a crusher, if so please
show it on the map.
E.) Please specify the dimensions of the pit excavations, water diversions/impoundments
and any stockpiles.
F.) Will any water be used in the operation, if so please specify the source the water will
be taken from?
