110 Permit Application <br />Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and <br />No offices, buildings or other similar structures are planned for the permit area. <br />Excavation and processing equipment may include a track hoe and front end loader. A <br />small rock crusher will be used at the site, if needed, to facilitate meeting material <br />specifications. <br />(F) Rule: specify the dimensions of any significant disturbances to the land surface such as <br />pit excavations, mine benches, impoundments, stockpiles, waste rock disposal areas, <br />etc. <br />Response: The entire permit area is proposed to be approximately 35,100 square feet <br />(0.80 acre). The active mining area will be approximately 23,750 square feet. The in- <br />permit area storm water retention basin will occupy approximately 500 square feet. <br />Approximately 300 square feet of area will be used for soil stockpiles. The in-permit <br />road surface occupies 4,125 square feet and is 15 feet wide. <br />(G) Rule: specify the dimensions of any existing or proposed roads that will be used for the <br />mining operation. Describe any improvements necessary on existing roads and the <br />specifications to be used in the construction of new roads. New or improved roads must <br />be included as part of the permitted acreage. Describe any associated drainage and <br />runoff conveyance structures to include sufficient information to evaluate structure <br />sizing. <br />Response: The 4,125 square feet of road immediately adjoining the pit's eastern <br />boundary will be included in the permit area. The surface drainage off of the road will <br />remain unchanged. Pit drainage will be directed away from the road surface. Coarse <br />material may be incorporated into the road surface in this area to improve traction and <br />reduce erosion potential. Silt fencing will be placed on the east side of the road to filter <br />runoff from the road surface. Following the mining of materials, transport of materials <br />will occur on private Tepee Park Ranch roads to the location of its final end use. <br />Improvements of those roads, if any, are being permitted as part of an oil and gas permit <br />being sought concurrent with this permit. <br />(H) Rule: specify how much water will be used in conjunction with the operation, and the <br />source of this water. <br />Response: No water use is planned for the operation. <br />(1) Rule: if groundwater will be encountered and/or surface water intercepted or disturbed, <br />describe how mining will affect the quantity and quality of the surface or groundwater <br />and the methods to be used to minimize disturbance to the surface and groundwater <br />systems including proposed dewatering, sediment-containment or chemical treatment <br />systems, storm water run-off controls, and groundwater points of compliance. <br />Response: Groundwater is not anticipated to be encountered. If present, groundwater <br />would be evident from seeps or springs in the existing excavation walls. Depth to <br />laterally continuous groundwater resources is expected to exceed a depth of 100 feet <br />below ground surface, based on topographic relief to the nearest perennial stream. <br />Surface water runoff from above the mine will be routed around the active mining area <br />through the use of clear water drainage ditches and two culverts crossing the road.
