Sherman <br />Executive Director <br />Dick Wolfe, P.E. <br />Director <br />When replying, please refer to: <br />MONUMENT DAM <br />Construction File No.: C-1676A <br />Water Division 4, Dam ID: 400413 <br />Subject: Review of Request for Conditional Storage in Monument Dam (Rule 10.4) <br />Dear Mr. Kistler: <br />Thank you for submitting the request for a Conditional Approval of the <br />construction of the modifications to Monument Dam in Gunnison County. This request <br />was made in a letter dated February 26, 2008 from Mr. Philip Solseng of Barr <br />Engineering and in accordance with Rule 10.4 of the State of Colorado's "Rules and <br />Regulations for Dam Safety and Dam Construction" (Rules and Regulations). <br />_ Based on the results of previous construction inspections performed by either Mr._.. <br />Jason Ward or Mr. Paul Perri with our office, the construction of the modifications to <br />Monument Dam is considered to be substantially complete and satisfactorily complete. <br />As a result, the proposed' schedule for completion of required punch list items, the . <br />submittal of the Completion Documents, and the first fill and monitoring plan summarized <br />in the abovementioned request letter, a Conditional Approval of this construction project <br />for full use of the reservoir for the storage of water is granted, whenever water is legally <br />and physically available. <br />This Conditional Approval is contingent on the following items being verified <br />complete by this office: <br />1. installation of the reservoir staff gage and survey work is completed by <br />March 28, 2008. <br />2. Clearing of the emergency spillway entrance and channel to pre- <br />construction dimensions by March 7, 2008. <br />3. Conduct a final inspection when the reservoir is empty.
