In conformance with section 4 . 05 . 14 explora- <br /> • tory or monitoring wells will be utilized for mining related <br /> uses only upon approval of the State Engineer and the <br /> Garfield Water Court . The notice of transfer will be for- <br /> warded to the CMRB as required . <br /> e . Alternative water supply information <br /> Mid-Continent has demonstrated that there <br /> will be no adverse impacts on surface or groundwater rights <br /> within or adjacent to the area . In the unforseen event an <br /> impact does occur the company will replace the water supply <br /> of owner of interest in real property where the water supply <br /> has been adversely affected by contamination, diminuation or <br /> interruption resulting from the mining operation. The plan <br /> • for replacing the water to the injured water rights will be <br /> approved through the state engineer and by the Garfield <br /> District Water Court . <br /> f . Mining impacts and control <br /> The effects of mining operations in Coal <br /> Basin on water quantity are minimal and no adverse conse- <br /> quences have occurred nor are expected to in the future . <br /> Some diminution of water quality does occur <br /> in the Basin as a result of the mining operation . These are <br /> not considered to be serious and Mid-Continent has implemented <br /> a water quality control program that will minimize any <br /> adverse affects of the operations on water quality . This <br /> program is .outlined in Section C, Chapter IV , Protection o` <br /> • the Hydrologic Balance . <br /> 45 <br />
