Ill. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br /> Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made <br /> during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection <br /> and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br /> This was a complete inspection conducted by Kent Gorham of the Colorado Division of <br /> Reclamation, Mining, and Safety (Division). This processing and loadout site has been <br /> inactive since June 2001 after the closure of the Lorencito Mine (#C-96-084). Ground <br /> conditions on this day were dry. The weather was seasonal and breezy. <br /> Hydrologic Balance <br /> Underground mine water dewatering has not yet begun at this time. The dewatering pond <br /> remains inactive at this time awaiting installation of a pump into the mine workings. Pond 7 <br /> holds only a small amount of water, well below the invert of the primary riser. The outlet gate <br /> on this pond was found closed as required. Pond 8 at the Refuse Disposal Area held a <br /> modest amount of water.
