Mr. James Herron,~MLRD
Page 2
5. Mid-Continent Resources Engineering Department is
presently designing this alternate storage area and will sub-
mit plans shortly.
6. Air quality permits enclosed.
7. The slurry pond will be used only very temporarily--
actually only as long as it takes to construct the new pond
adjacent to it (see Geo-Hydro report April '84, 4/26/84). The
slurry pond would remain a slurry pond. The new pond requires
0.59 ac. ft. of storage and the slurry pond has 1.9 ac. ft. of
storage. For a period of 30 days we would ensure that there
is 0.6 ac. ft. of storage in the slurry pond; this level would
be marked on the side of the pond.
The new pond has a NPDES discharge permit No. 396-020,
and will discharge into Coal Creek.
8. Sheet 3 of ? has been revised to ensure that all dis-
turbed drainage on the north side of the hill will go into the.
new sediment pond 396-020.
9. This topsoil has been combined into the topsoil stock-
pile adjacent to the No. 1 transfer point..
10. The conveyor belt through this area will have a full
pan underneath that- will be an extension of the bottom of the.
tube crossing Coal Creek.
11. We will salvage 18 inches of topsoil along the belt
line (see Question No. 2, 18,333 cu. yds.) and 24 inches across
the face-up area {2,222 cu. yds.).
12. Geo-Hydro is presently working on revising the
Sheet 3 of 7 and the computations pertaining to the topsoil
pile area.
13. Geo-Hydro is presently working on the culvert
locations, sizes and supporting calculations.
14. Geo-Hydro is making the appropriate corrections.
15. Geo-Hydro is revising Sheet 3 of ? to show the
appropriate drainage for this area.
16. The new Geo-Hydro calculations for pond -020 show
this area controlled.
All the Geo-Hydro revisions should be in your office by 5/14/84.
Contact me if you have questions or need more information.
C~,~~• ti's. ~ Z~~ G~~ 3ZS~
DWBowman:ms
Enclosures
Sincerely yours,
Environmental Coordifiator
63
;.
-~,
