R. -Temporary Disposal of Coal Refuse at Rock Ttrnnel Waste Disposal Pile
1. Items 1, 2, 3, 4, and ? will be forthcaning fran Geo-Hydro.
Iten 5. Topsoil Removal Plan
Tie topsoil removal plan will regain the same: i.e., all topsoil will
be stockpiled at the same areas designated in our tunnel plan, with two
exceptions: the topsoil pile located by the landfill (dump) area will be
deleted, and the material that was to be placed there will be placed on
• the newly finished twzrto-one side slope of the pile. I have had very good
results in placing fresh topsoil on a final slope and being able to get
native seed and plant growth fran this method.
As you can see by the new designed pile, it is approximately 25 feet
higher; this means an additional 25 feet of topsoil will be removed, but
I plan to take it off as the pile goes up and iIImediately deposit it on the
outside of the pile.. As the depth of topsoil on the side hill will pro-
bably exceed the depth on the flat, same topsoil will be placed on the
permanent pile.
1) Total side hill topsoil removed (100'x400'x1.0') Est. 2600 cu. yds.
2) Amount to be deposited on 2-to-1 slopes Est. 1480 cu. yds.
(100'x400'x1.0')
Est. amount to be placed in storage = 1120 cu. yds.
3) Original estimated amount removed for previous
pile design 14000 cu. yds.
Est. total side hill 2600 cu. yds.
Est. new total 16,600 cu. yds.
Item 6. Reclamation Plan
The reclamation plan will r~~n the same, using the 8,000' seed mix
(revised 1984). The two new sediment ponds and the 2-to-l side slopes that
receive topsoil w211 t>'e revegetated in the fall of 1984. All 2-to-1 slopes
that receive topsoil in 1985 will be revegetated in the fall of 1985.
48.
..
