Miller Dam. Adsms County, Colorado for Denver Water. R1H Consultants, Inc. led the embankment design and construction engineering for Miller Qam and Reservoir, which is located along the South Platte River in Commerce City, Colorado. Miller Reservoir is currently an unlined gravel pit raw water resenrok with about S00 acre-feet of storage. The project includes: • Mining additional property to the east and south of the existing reservoir. • ConstnicGrg a perimeter embankment that is up to 20 feet high and 4,950 feet long to increase the storage to about 2,100 acre-feet. • Installing an inlet from ttre Burlington Ditch. • installing an outlet to the South Platte River and to the adjacent Cat Reservorc. • Constructing a spilivray. Eldred Dam, Montrose County, Colorado, for Eldred Colorado Family Limited Paf6lership. RJH Consultants. Inc. provided pre-design anti final design, including contract documents, for the new Eldred Dam in Montrose County, Colorado. Eldred Dam will be located on the South Fork of Horsefly Creek. which is a tributary to the San Miguel River in Montrose County, Colorado. The primary purpose for the reservoir will be to provide a facility for irrigation of nearby ranch pashreland. A secondary purpose will be for recreational uses such as fishing and wildlife viewing. Zadst Gravel Pits, YVeld Cotmty, Colorado for City of Thornton. R1H Consultants, inc. was retained by the City of Thornton (Thornton) to perform a conceptual planning study to evaluate the feasibility of purchasing and developing the Zadei gravel pits into an exdtiarge reservoir. The Zadet gavel pits are located in Weld County, Colorado, approximately i .75 mites northwest of the town of Fort Lupton. The gravel pit site was currently being mined and the seller intended to develop a multi- ceil water storage facility with an ultimate moorage capacity of about 3.100 acre-feet for two property sites. The seller proposed to design and construct a compacted clay liner to convert the gravel pia into reservoirs. Thornton was responsible for providing facilities needed to meet Thomton's water storage and conveyance needs and R1H was selected to perform these evaluations. Ken Ml~heil Lakes, Brighton, Colorado, for City of Brighton. Ken Mitchell Lake was created from a slung wail around Ken Mitchell Reservoir Cell No. 1. The slurry wal! was constructed in 2005, but is leaking and is unable to pass the State Engineer s Leakage Test. R!H was retained to act as an independent consultant to determine the extent of the leaking and repair the damage to allow the reservoir to pass the SEO leakage test. 3
