Miller Dam. Adsms County, Colorado for Denver Water. R1H Consultants, Inc. <br />led the embankment design and construction engineering for Miller Qam and Reservoir, <br />which is located along the South Platte River in Commerce City, Colorado. Miller <br />Reservoir is currently an unlined gravel pit raw water resenrok with about S00 acre-feet <br />of storage. The project includes: <br />• Mining additional property to the east and south of the existing reservoir. <br />• ConstnicGrg a perimeter embankment that is up to 20 feet high and 4,950 feet <br />long to increase the storage to about 2,100 acre-feet. <br />• Installing an inlet from ttre Burlington Ditch. <br />• installing an outlet to the South Platte River and to the adjacent Cat Reservorc. <br />• Constructing a spilivray. <br />Eldred Dam, Montrose County, Colorado, for Eldred Colorado Family <br />Limited Paf6lership. RJH Consultants. Inc. provided pre-design anti final design, <br />including contract documents, for the new Eldred Dam in Montrose County, Colorado. <br />Eldred Dam will be located on the South Fork of Horsefly Creek. which is a tributary to <br />the San Miguel River in Montrose County, Colorado. The primary purpose for the <br />reservoir will be to provide a facility for irrigation of nearby ranch pashreland. A <br />secondary purpose will be for recreational uses such as fishing and wildlife viewing. <br />Zadst Gravel Pits, YVeld Cotmty, Colorado for City of Thornton. R1H <br />Consultants, inc. was retained by the City of Thornton (Thornton) to perform a <br />conceptual planning study to evaluate the feasibility of purchasing and developing the <br />Zadei gravel pits into an exdtiarge reservoir. The Zadet gavel pits are located in Weld <br />County, Colorado, approximately i .75 mites northwest of the town of Fort Lupton. <br />The gravel pit site was currently being mined and the seller intended to develop a multi- <br />ceil water storage facility with an ultimate moorage capacity of about 3.100 acre-feet for <br />two property sites. The seller proposed to design and construct a compacted clay liner <br />to convert the gravel pia into reservoirs. Thornton was responsible for providing <br />facilities needed to meet Thomton's water storage and conveyance needs and R1H was <br />selected to perform these evaluations. <br />Ken Ml~heil Lakes, Brighton, Colorado, for City of Brighton. Ken Mitchell <br />Lake was created from a slung wail around Ken Mitchell Reservoir Cell No. 1. The slurry <br />wal! was constructed in 2005, but is leaking and is unable to pass the State Engineer s <br />Leakage Test. R!H was retained to act as an independent consultant to determine the <br />extent of the leaking and repair the damage to allow the reservoir to pass the SEO <br />leakage test. <br />3 <br />
