Project Manager <br />for evaluation of causes of leakage through an existing soil-bentonite cutoff wall and <br />development of methods to repair the wall, and construction services to repair the wall, <br />Also provided technical support to the City for litigation. Responsibilities included <br />geotechnical evaluation to evaluate consistency of soil-bentonite cutoff wall and key depth <br />into bedrock, identification of probable construction defects, and development pf <br />procedures to repair the wall and determine correlation between existing conditions and <br />final payment records. <br />GENERAL GRAVEL PITS CONSULTANT, FOR CITY OF THORNTON. Project Manager <br />responsible for providing engineering consulting services. Work included providing support <br />the City with their planning, design, monitoring, construction and purchase of gravel pit <br />water storage facilities. As part of this engagement provided the following services: <br />• Developed and implemented systems to monitor groundwater levels around current <br />and future gravel pit storage facilities. <br />• Developed technical criteria for inclusion in purchase agreements far gravel pits. <br />Assisted with review, evaluation and negotiation of gravel pit purchase agreements. <br />• Provided expert testimony in support of condemnation of gravel pits. <br />• Reviewed and evaluated design documents for soil-bentonite cutoff walls. compacted <br />clay liners and interconnects for gravel pits and for embankments, outlet works, and <br />spillways forjurisdictional dams. Reviewed and assisted with obtaining permits for <br />construction of dams and reservoirs in flood plains. <br />• Developed conceptual and preliminary designs and cost estimates for several <br />proposed reservoirs including: 104th and Riverdale, West Sprat Platte, Villaneaux, <br />and Timnath. Project components included river diversions, pipelines, surface water <br />diversions, well fields, interconnects, pump stations, clay and soil-bentonite liners, <br />spillways, access roads, and embankment dams. Identified permitting requirements <br />by the Division of Minerals and Geology, State Engineer, Urban Drainage and Flood <br />Control District, US Army Corps of Engineers, and local city and county governments. <br />• Assisted with development of project implementation schedule/plan for purchase <br />and development of gravel pits. <br />• Performed site visits to observe, document and monitor progress of construction for <br />gravel pits and to obtain survey data to confirm that the facilities were constructed <br />in substantial conformance to the design documents. <br />• Designed, developed bid documents and provided construction engineering services <br />for Phase 1 of the Tigers to East Sprat Interconnect pipeline. Led permitting efforts <br />to obtain required permits from the State Engineer and the Division of Minerals and <br />Geology. <br />• Developed a groundwater model to evaluate potential impacts to the groundwater <br />regime around East Sprat gravel pit. <br />~ ~` <br />~. <br />
