Colowyo C-1981-019
18 March 2008~-7
Pg 4/4 ~-v (/~
Fish and Wildlife: -There were deer and elk all over the mine site at the time of the
inspection.
-There were two porcupines on the Sturgeon Road at the time of the inspection.
These are probably the same porcupine that were there last inspection.
Excess Spoil: -The reclaimed portions of the West Pit fill were inaccessible due to
snow at the time of the inspection.
-The Streeter fill ~Nas covered with some snow but it appeared to be well vegetated
and stable at thE~ time of the inspection. No erosional problems were noted on the
fill. This pile has done through a Phase II bond release.
-The Section 16 fill was inaccessible at the time of the inspection (and will probably
remain so until April or May).
-The operator is 'starting to do some wing dumping in the East Taylor Fill area. This is
the start of the gravity-sorting of the large rock for the underdrain. Once the
operation is in full swing the large rock will roll down into the underdrain area. Once
a section of the underdrain is full of the large, sorted rock, Colowyo will wrap the rock
with filter fabric t~~ facilitate the draining of the pile.
Overall, the operations and reclamation at the Colowyo Mine are being conducted
in accordance v/ith the approved plans contained within the PAP. The operation is
doing a good joky ensuring compliance with all of the Rules.
