Explosives <br /> A cast blast was scheduled for 3 PM in the F pit. Minor delays resulted in the blasting <br /> actually occurring at about 3:46 PM. Required blast warnings as depicted on the blasting <br /> warning signs represented in this report. The operator gave a ten minute radio warning <br /> notifying the mine employees of the scheduled blast. Five minute blast warnings were noted <br /> at 3:41 PM. Twenty short horn sirens were sounded at three minutes. A steady siren was <br /> heard at two minutes and at 30 seconds changed to a tone change. The blast occurred <br /> without incident and with only a minor amount of dust. Approximately ten minutes after the <br /> blast, a 20 second all clear siren was heard. <br /> Personnel and radio communications indicated the area was carefully and methodically <br /> isolated to limit access of mine personnel. The operation is in compliance with Rules <br /> 4.08.4(1)-(5). <br /> General Mine Plan Compliance <br /> Surface mining activities continue in pit areas as approved. Ash disposal continues in the <br /> upper end on the A pit. Nothing unusual was noted during the inspection. <br /> 4 <br />
