III. COMMENTS - COMPLIANCE
Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made
during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection
and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action.
This was a partial inspection conducted by Kent Gorham of the Colorado Division of
Reclamation, Mining, and Safety (Division). Graham Roberts of Trapper Mining Inc
accompanied me on the inspection. Trapper is a mine mouth operation located immediately
north of the Tri-State Power Generation Station south of Craig Colorado. Ground conditions
on this day were snow-covered in most areas except lower, wind-swept open fields. The
weather was moderate and evidence suggests that warming temperatures during the
afternoon hours recently have resulted in some melting.
Signs and Markers _
The mine entrance sign is located + '
along the mine entrance road
immediately after exiting from I r
Highway 13. This is the only public
road entrance to the permit area.
