Lead Pbl. A total of 10 Southfield samples were analyzed for lead.
The average value of these samples was 1.8 ppm with a low of 0.8 ppm in
a Red Arrow roof sample, (SR-46), and a high of 2.7 ppm in a Jack
O'Lantern roof sample, (SR-46). With a suitability limit of 10 ppm no
problems with toxicity or groundwater quality are anticipated.
Manganese Mn A total of 10 Southfield samples were analyzed for
manganese. The average value of these samples was 3.0 ppm with a low of
0.5 ppm in a Jack O'Lantern floor sample, (SR-49), and a high of 4.2 ppm
in Jack O'Lantern and Red Arrow floor samples, (SR-46). Under acidic
conditions an upper limit of 10 ppm is considered marginally toxic. Under
neutral or alkaline conditions, 60 ppm is considered the suspect limit.
None of the Southfield samples approach either limit. Therefore, no
problems with revegetation toxicity or groundwater quality are
anticipated.
Molybdenum Mo A total of 10 Southfield samples were analyzed for
molybdenum. The average value of these samples was -0.1 ppm with no low
or high values. With suspect level of 3.0 ppm set forth in the Montana
Guidelines, no problems with toxicity or groundwater quality are
anticipated.
Mercury _LHg•Z. A total of 10 Southfield samples were analyzed for
mercury. The average value of these samples was -0.01 ppm with lows of
-0.01 ppm found in roof and floor samples of both seams and a high of 3.6
ppm in a Jack O'Lantern roof sample, (SR-46). All but one of the mercury
values were 0.01 ppm or lower. With a suspect level of 0.5 ppm as
presented in the Montana Guidelines, no problems with toxicity or
groundwater quality are anticipated.

~~
Nickel Ni•).. A total of 10 Southfield samples were analyzed for nickel.
All sample values were ••0.1 ppm with no high or low values. The Montana
Guidelines set a suspect range for nickel of 1.0 to 5.0 ppm. Therefore,
no problems with revegetation toxicity or groundwater quality are
anticipated.
