See also Section 1.0 of the "Standard Work Specifications" included in CDMG General <br /> Bid Specifications, 1993. <br /> The CONTRACTOR shall exercise caution during mobilization, performance of all work <br /> tasks, and demobilization in order to avoid damage to public and private property <br /> including, but not limited to, pavements, soils, vegetation, water supplies, fences, walls, <br /> structures, existing sediment ponds, landscaping etc. The CONTRACTOR shall repair <br /> and restore public or private property damaged during the work at his expense. <br /> The CONTRACTOR shall be fully responsible for any and all damage to property <br /> caused by his equipment or personnel. The CONTRACTOR shall ensure that the job <br /> site is restored to original or better condition and that the PROJECT MANAGER <br /> accept that the work is complete. <br /> Measurement and Payment <br /> No measurement for payment shall be made for mobilization and demobilization. A <br /> lump sum bid for mobilization and demobilization shall be reflected under Item 1 of the <br /> Bid Schedule. Payment of two-thirds of the lump sum price will be made with the first <br /> monthly progress payment after completion of the work described above for <br /> mobilization. Payment of one-third of the lump sum price will be made with the final <br /> progress payment for the work if demobilization has been completed. If the price bid for <br /> mobilization and demobilization is greater than fifteen percent (15%) of the total <br /> contract price, invoices supporting the mobilization costs will be required before payment <br /> is approved. <br /> TASK 2 EARTHWORK <br /> OBJECTIVE <br /> The overall objective of the earthwork task is to excavate waste borrow material from <br /> the borrow location and place it against the existing cuts to reduce the slopes of the cuts. <br /> A final topsoil cover will be excavated and placed over the final grades for revegetation. <br /> During excavation, variable sized rock will be generated to be used for surface <br /> drainageway construction. <br /> The following quantities have been calculated to be used for earthwork. The following <br /> volumes are ESTIMATIONS ONLY and are stated to give the prospective bidders an <br /> idea of what yardage amounts are involved. The following figures are based on 3D maps <br /> using AutoCOGO on the average end method using 50 ft. centers: <br /> Waste for Fill 74,300 c.y. <br /> Topsoil 16.200 c.y. <br /> Total Excavation 90,500 c.y. <br /> Prior to initiating earthwork tasks, any remaining structures, equipment or materials left <br /> behind from the previous mining operation will be completely removed from the site. <br /> 5 <br />
