f. l 2.2 Dust Control Annual dust control activities continue as in past years, primarily on the face and behind the crest of No. 3 Tailing Dam (Tenmile). 2.3 2007 DMG Inspection Allen Sorenson inspected Climax on September 26, 2007. Areas of inspection included the Arkansas Lake Area (old gravel pits), Storke Yard Arkansas River Reclamation, Camp and Tailing Pond Water Management. 2.4 Topsoil As part of the 2006 McNulty Waste Dump Regrading Project discussed in last year's report, up to 10,000 cubic yards of topsoil material was relocated further from the toe of the dump in 2007. Additional topsoil from the Sludge Densification and 3-Dam Pump Station projects was also stockpiled. All stockpiles were seeded and signed. In addition, all known topsoil stockpiles on the Climax site were located, inspected visually, and signed appropriately. Many of these stockpiles are in excess of 25 years old. All were well vegetated and stable. 2.5 Weed Control Climax's program of weed control continued in 2007. A copy of the final report on 2007 weed activities by Habitat Management, Inc. is attached. 3.0 2008 Activities Scheduled reclamation and construction activities at Climax during 2008 will be as extensive as 2007. The following reclamation-related projects are being planned: • Continued reclamation on Robinson Tailings Impoundment. • Restoration of the East Fork Arkansas River channel through the Storke Yard (final year of the 2-year restoration project). • Remediation and reclamation of historical mine waste from Searle Gulch (final year of the 3-year remediation project). • Closure of certain shafts and adits. • Reclamation of the Jones Gravel Pit northwest of Leadville (Separate Permit). • Continued visual enhancement reclamation projects. • Site-wide materials and growth media survey. • Continued weed control. • Demolition 3
