Parked on edge of driveway to
site just south of the gate, which was open. Some workers were amving at this time. Observed
trees on and near site through binoculars. Did not observe any raptors in trees.
Continued to observe trees with binoculars and did not observe any raptors in trees.
6:55 AM Now full light. No signs of eagles in trees.. There is a hawk in a tree next to a building
on the property next to SH 52 immediately east of the site. At this point I started observing with
a spotting scope.
7:00 AM Two Hawks in large tree next to Shell's property on east of the site, and one hawk in the
easternmost tree north of the gate. These hawks were not there earlier. END OBSERVATIONS
12/17/06
4:35 PM Arrive at site. Sunset is at 4:37. Mine was closed. Parked in drive way with vehicle
facing east to allow use of spotting scope mounted on driver side window. Sky'is overcast and
temperature is in the 30's. When I arrived there was a hawk circling over one of the trees north
of the gate. There were no raptors perched in trees on site or next to Shell's.
4:40 There is a hawk in large tree next to Shell's property. It has its back to me and I cannot
make out markings to identify the species,
4:49 Hawk has left the tree next to Shell's property.
5:20 Too dark to see. END OBSERVATIONS. No raptors were observed in trees prior to my
leaving. During the survey I regularly observed all trees on and near the site with a spotting
scope and binoculars.
12/26/06
