No problems were found in the surface facilities area.
King II—Earthwork for the surface facilities area of this new mine began in March 2007. Much of the
surface earthwork(roads, ditches, etc.) has been completed. Structures in the loading and truck loop
areas (stack tubes, etc.) are under construction. A temporary office trailer was on site. Four portals
have been developed.
General Mine Plan Compliance
No problems were found on the King I and II Mines. Operations appeared to comply with the
approved mine plan. Underground operations and surface disturbances appeared to be confined to the
areas in the approved mine plan.
Air Resource Protection
There was no fugitive dust problem at either King I or King II during the inspection.
Subsidence
There were no signs of subsidence or slope instability in the area of the four new portals of the King II
Mine.
4
