Wildlife Information
The Colorado Division of Wildlife stated that no endangered
wildlife species have been noted in the Harvey Gap region.
The Colorado Division of Wildlife also stated that mule deer
occupy the Harvey Gap area and that elk occasionally use the
area as winter range. The rough, rocky topography with
scattered pinon-juniper cover provide an isolated habitat
and forage for bobcat, toyote, mountain lion, and red tailed
hawks. Other wildlife species to be expected in the area
include raccoons, ringtail cats, yellowbelly marmot,
cottontail rabbits, jacKrabbits, chipmunks, rack wren and
pinon jay.
~_
86 Revised 5/87
