PROJECT WORK DESCRIPTION <br /> ITEM 1 MOBILIZATION and DEMOBILIZATION <br /> I. Mobilization <br /> This task includes moving equipment and supplies to the project area. If desired, the <br /> CONTRACTOR may establish a staging area for the storage of all equipment and supplies. <br /> The area shall be of adequate size to accommodate all of the CONTRACTORS vehicles, <br /> equipment, and supplies and shall be approved by the PROJECT MANAGER. The <br /> CONTRACTOR shall minimize impact on the staging area with regard to noise, dust, and <br /> fumes. The CONTRACTOR shall be responsible for maintaining security of the staging area. <br /> This task also includes all labor and costs associated with locating and protecting utilities, <br /> both above ground and underground, at the work site. <br /> The CONTRACTOR shall exercise caution during mobilization, performance of all work <br /> tasks, and demobilization in order to avoid damage to public and private property including, <br /> but not limited to, pavements, soils, vegetation, water supplies, fences, walls, structures, <br /> existing sediment ponds, landscaping etc. The CONTRACTOR shall repair and restore public <br /> or private property damaged during the work at his expense. See also Section 1.0 of the <br /> "Standard Work Specifications" included in CDMG General Bid Specifications, 1996. <br /> II. Demobilization <br /> This item shall include all labor, equipment, and costs associated with demobilization and <br /> clean-up of the work site to its original or better condition. All equipment and supplies, <br /> materials, and debris related to this project will be removed from the site upon completion. <br /> The CONTRACTOR shall also reclaim any staging area or other ground disturbed during the <br /> course of the project located outside of the project area as defined by this Bid Document. All <br /> haul roads shall be fully regraded and reclaimed upon completion of the project. Additional <br /> final grading shall be accomplished to reduce oversteep slopes, if needed. <br /> The CONTRACTOR shall be fully responsible for any and all damage to property caused by <br /> his equipment or personnel. The CONTRACTOR shall ensure that the job site is restored to <br /> original or better condition and that the PROJECT MANAGER accept that the work is <br /> complete. See also Section 1.0 of the "Standard Work Specifications" included in CDMG <br /> General Bid Specifications, 1996. <br /> Measurement and Payment <br /> No measurement for payment shall be made for mobilization and demobilization. A lump <br /> sum bid for mobilization and demobilization shall be reflected under Item 1 of the Bid <br /> Schedule. Payment of two-thirds of the lump sum price will be made with .the first monthly <br /> 4 <br />
