Enclosed is a brief description and bid schedule for the Grassy Gap Maintenance Project.
PROJECT LOCATION
The Grassy Gap mine site is located approximately 13 miles southeast of Hayden, Colorado.
Follow State Highway 40 east of Hayden for 4.6 miles. Just past-the turnoff to the
powerplant, take County Road 27 south for 7.2 miles to the turnoff at Grassy Gap which
heads west from the saddle. Follow the mine road for approximately 1 mile to the mine site.
WORK SUMMARY
Project work will consist of trash removal, repair work on a standpipe, hauling road base for
road repair work and performing minor road maintenance using a Cat D5H - or 120
minimum fhp equivalent with Power-Angle-Tilt, multiple rippers and operator
PRE-BID MEETING/SITE SHOWING
There will be no pre-bid meeting or site showing. Project work will be discussed after the
completion of the Edna Project pre-bid meeting on July 24, 1997.
BID OPENING DATE
All bid openings are open to the public and bidders are welcome to attend and record the bid
results. A written tabulation of the Bid results will be available to those bidders who submit
a clearly-visible, self-addressed, stamped envelope with their bid. Please allow two weeks
for receipt of Bid results. Telephone requests cannot be honored because of time constraints.
The bid opening date for this project is August 15, 1997 at 2:30 p.m.
