Prior to permanent cessation of operations, all structures no longer required such as dams, diversions,
powertines, roads and buildings will be removed and those areas permanently reGaimed. All salvage-
able road base and surface materials, concrete and asphalt will be disposed of by burial in one of the
final pits. All salvageable machinery and equipment will be removed from the mine area. Any unsal-
vageable machinery and equipment will be buried in one of the final pits.
Drill holes will be reclaimed in an appropriate manner (refer to Section 3.3). Excavaticns, trenches and
ditches will be removed by backfilling or grading or both. Heavily compacted areas will be scarified or
disced. Final pits will be filled in and the highwalls eliminated by using the spoil in the last few cuts for
backfilling the final cut. Usually this would involve the last four cuts.
All affected areas will be backfilled, graded, retopsoiled and revegetated. The result will be the perma-
nent 2clamation of all affected areas. The specific type of permanent reclamation for a particular area
will be dependent upon the anticipated post mining land use for the particular area (refer to Sedion 4.2).
Because it is extremely unlikely that permanent cessation of operations will occur during the term of this
perntt, the Gosure plans discussed are general. The permit for the term that will include the year 2014
(the year it is expelled that permanent cessation of operations will occur) will include a specific and
detailed closure plan.
• 3.1.8 SuAace Mining Near Undeground Mining
During the time period 1988 to 1991, Trapper Mining Inc. concluded mining activities within 500 horizon-
tal feet of the underground mine workings of Eagle No. 5 Mine, controlled by Empire Energy Corporation.
These underground workings, shown on Map M-8, C Pit Blasting Plan, are mostly abandoned room and
pillar mining areas for which an estimated 85°,6 extraction was accomplished.
During the remainder of Trapper Mine's operation, no surface mining operations will be affecting the
underground adivtties.
• - - -`rr2-i s'-~--------- -
/h ~7fiA»~i ~G~GPi~ _
/~
