Case Narrative
The results included in this report have been reviewed for compliance with STL's Quality
Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) plan. The test results shown in this report meet all
requirements of NELAC and any exceptions are noted below.
This report may include data with reporting limits (RLs) less than STL's standard reporting limit.
These data and reporting limits are being used specifically to meet the needs of this project.
Note that, data are not customarily reported to these levels without qualifiers, because they are
inherently less reliable and potentially less defensible than the latest industry standards require.
Dilution factors and footnotes have been provided to assist in the interpretation of the results.
Each sample was analyzed to achieve the lowest possible reporting limit within the constraints
of the method. In some cases, due to interferences or analytes present at concentrations
above the linear calibration curve, samples were diluted. For diluted samples, the reporting
limits are adjusted relative to the dilution required.
STL utilizes USEPA approved methods in all analytical work. The samples presented in this
report were analyzed for the parameters listed on the analytical methods summary page in
accordance with the methods indicated. A summary of quality control parameters is provided
below.
This report shall not be reproduced except in full, without the written approval of the laboratory.
Quality Control Summary for Lot D7D190399
Sample Receivina
STL Denver received four aqueous samples under chain of custody on April 19, 2007.
The cooler temperatures at receipt were acceptable at 5.7°C and 5.4°C.
Holding Times
All analysis was performed within the prescribed holding times.
Method SW846 82608. GC/MS Volatile Oraanic Analysis
The LCS/LCSD exhibited percent recoveries outside the QC limits, biased high, for non-target
compound carbon tetrachloride. Carbon tetrachloride is not a constituent of interest for this
project, and all other associated QC is 100% in control. Acceptable precision and accuracy
have been demonstrated; therefore, corrective action is deemed unnecessary.
Laboratory generated MS/MSD analysis data have been provided. The MS/MSD exhibited spike
compound recoveries outside the QC limits for multiple non-target compounds. Precision and
accuracy have been verified by the acceptable LCS/LCSD analysis data; therefore, corrective
action is deemed unnecessary.
No other anomalies were encountered.
Method 80158 (Gasoline Ranae Oraanicsl, GC Volatile Organic Analysis
The MS/MSD performed on sample CRMW06 were in control.
No anomalies were encountered.
•
STL Denver 2
