4-64 <br />• plastic; calcareous; common fine and medium roots, <br />very few coarse roots; pH 3.0; gradual wavy boundary. <br />C2 20 to 34 inches; pale brown (lOYR 6/3) silty clay <br />loam, brown (lOYR 5/3) moist; moderate medium sub- <br />angular blocky structure; slightly hard, friable, <br />sticky and plastic; calcareous; common fine and <br />medium roots; common very fine lime mycelia; pH 8.0; <br />gradual wavy boundary. <br />C3 34 to 67+ inches; pale brown (lOYR 6/3) stratified <br />layers of silty clay loam with sandy clay loam lenses; <br />grayish brown (lOYR 5/2 moist; massive structure; <br />• soft, friable, sticky and plastic; calcareous; <br /> common fine and very fine roots, few medium roots; <br />below 57 inches are irregular deposits of medium <br />sands; pH 8.4. <br />The soil has a hue of lOYR or 2.SY value of 5 or 6 dry, 4 or 5 <br />moist, and a chroma of 2 or 3. The control section is typically <br />stratified loam and fine sandy loam. Some pedons have 1/2 to 3 <br />inch lenses of coarser or finer material and clay content ranges <br />from 20 to 30 percent. Gravelly substrata occur below 40 inches <br />in some pedons.
