4-3 <br />The reclamation objectives are to return the disturbed area <br />to identified previous uses; wildlife habitat and rangeland. <br />Domestic animals are restricted in their movement through <br />the canyon area by topography. Reclamation and revegetation <br />of the disturbed areas will take this fact into consideration <br />(See Sections 3.1 and 3.5). <br />Discussions of site utilization by wildlife is provided in <br />Section 4.6.9. <br />4.1.2.3 Future Land Use <br />Existin~-mining-land use is the principle criterion <br />for establishing reclamation objectives. Overall average <br />• parity between pre-mining and post-mining land use will be <br />achieved as a result of reclamation, thereby reestablishing <br />the land use capability of the affected lands. The reclama- <br />tion objective is for the return of the disturbed area to <br />rangeland and wildlife habitat as previously realized. Care <br />will be taken to establish an ecotone or transitional area <br />between the two proposed land use types. <br />There is in reality no latent alternative use of the reclaimed <br />land in question other than what has been proposed in this <br />Section and in Chapter 3.0 (Reclamation Plan). These uses <br />(wildlife habitat and rangeland) have been ordained by the <br />uses realized on adjacent and contiguous lands. The reclaimed <br />• <br />
