4-10
•
lease where it is up to 7 feet thick and thins southward.
Its thickness in the Munger Canyon Permit Area is less than
3 feet and cannot be economically developed in relation to
the Munger Canyon Mine plan area.
4.3.2.2 Carbonera Zone
The Carbonera Zone in the Permit Area is generally represented
by two major benches which are referred to as the Upper and
Lower Carbonera Seams. Thicknesses of these two benches are
shown in Table 4.3-2. The Upper Carbonera is of minable
thickness over portions of the mine permit and mine plan areas.
• Development is planned where the Upper Carbonera Seam is
greater than 5 feet in thickness. Additional information
which can be obtained with no environmental damage by drilling
up from the mine workings will allow more accurate mapping of
the Upper Carbonera Seam.
4.3.2.3 Cameo Seam
The Cameo Seam is split into an Upper Cameo and Lower Cameo Seam
in the central portion of the Permit Area. These benches
merge to the north and south to form a single thick seam. A
detailed analysis of these features are discussed and illus-
trated in Figures 4.2-5 and 4.2-6. This mine plan addresses
access to the Lower Cameo Seam from outcrops in Munger Canyon
• and driving development entries east, and south into the thicker
unsplit area of the seam. As discussed above in Section 4.3.2.2
