• Drainage -Most of~ the road is within rhP RSr~ riralnage svstem. Three 18" culverts <br />along this road convey surface runoff under the road on its way to sediment ponds. <br />See Appendix 3-2 for internal drainage design. For the creek crossing a dip section <br />r/~,J with 6-36" CMP culverts encased in concrete convey low flows under the road, The <br />~~"~ concrete surface conveys high flows across the road without eroding the road. See <br />M Appendix 13-1 or design of drainage through and across the dip section. Straw bale <br />~~ dikes are installed along each edge of the dip section to settle and filter roadway <br />~,, drainage before it goes to Coal Creek. Ditches not includes in the internal drainage <br />,,~w include ditches along the roadway leading to the dip section. Design for these ditches <br />;,~f• is given in Appendix 13-1. <br />~~ <br />~~p Surtacing -Specifics on the roadbase are unknown. The surface of the road is 3/4" <br />roadbase gravel. <br />Maintenance -The road is watered regularly during use and graded as necessary. <br />Mg-CI is applied to the surface once or twice a year to reduce the watering <br />requirements. When grading the road, the silt deposited on the dip section is graded <br />off and the bales are replace as necessary. <br />Structure Location Construction Dates <br />• Haul Road 3 Overland Conveyor &UTL 1978 <br />ormerly Access Exhibits 10A and 11A <br />Roads #4a & b) <br />,p., Description -This road includes portions of the Overland Conveyor and the Unit Train <br />~5t' Loadout (UTL) operations area over which coal is hauled onto and away from the <br />UTL. The road extends from the public road near the Colorado River bridge at Cameo <br />~} along the rail spur and through the rail loop to the loadout bin and includes a loop onto <br />the stockpile for a total length of approximately 6700'. <br />~~t Design and Construction -The road was installed across areas graded during <br />construction of the UTL and rail spur across relatively level land near the river. Minor <br />~{~ cuts and fills were made to cross the Coal Creek and the rail loop. The maximum <br />°~~ grade is 10% for 40' with the majority being less than 0.5%. The roadway width varies <br />from 20 to 40' and averages approximately 30'. Figure 13-2 is a typical cross section <br />for the design of this road. <br />Drainage -Most of the road is within the Overland Conveyor and the UTL drainage <br />system. Inside the UTL loop, runoff will be directed to Pond 1+2 through a series of <br />ditches, culverts and overland flow. Culverts include 1 - 6" CMP, 1 - 10" PVC pipe, 1 <br />- 12" CMP and 3 - 18" CMP. For the creek crossing a dip section with 6 - 30" CMP <br />culverts encased in concrete convey low flows under the road. The concrete surface <br />T13-2-2 (Rev. 12116/96) <br />
