• Table 13-2 <br />DESCRIPTION AND DESIGN OF ROADS <br />Structure Location Construction Dates <br />Haul Road 1 RSS, Exhibit 6A 1977 & 1978 <br />Description - This road includes a portion of the Roadside South lower operations <br />area over which coal and refuse may be hauled. The road extends from the public road <br />at the guard shack, around the southwest side of the Preparation Plant to the raw coal <br />stockpile, a distance of 300'. The road also incudes the road entering and exiting the <br />refuse loadout tunnel. <br />Design and Construction -The road is a portion of an area previously leveled for and <br />operations area. The road is relatively level with no cuts or fills. The roadway width is <br />20-40' wide. <br />Drainage -This road is within the Roadside South drainage system and has no <br />drainage structures specific to the road. <br />• Surfacing -The specifics on the road base is unknown. The surface of the road is 3/4" <br />roadbase gravel. <br />Maintenance -The road is watered regularly during use and graded as necessary. <br />Mg-CI is applied to the surface once or twice a year to reduce the watering <br />requirements. <br />Structure Location Construction Dates <br />Haul Road 2 RSN, Exhibits 8A 1980 & 1981 <br />Description -This road includes the two access routes into the Roadside North Portals <br />(RSN) operations area as well as portions of the operation area where coal or refuse <br />may be hauled. It extends from Haul Road No. 5, south of the operations area, across <br />the creek through the yard and stockpile areas, through the truck loadout structure and <br />out the west side of the operations area to Haul Road 4 for a total length of <br />approximately 2800'. <br />Design and Construction -The portions of the road through the yard and stockpile <br />area, through the loadout and out the west entrance is portions of an area previously <br />leveled for an operations area. The south access was installed in 1980 and 81 by <br />making road cuts on both sides of the creek. This portion of the road is 20-30' wide <br />• and has 10°~ grade for 160'. The cut slopes are approximately 1 v:2h. <br />T13-2-1 (Rev. 9/99) <br />
