(Note: The other access roads will have a sign the bears the name of the operation and other
information found useful to the Operator/Applicant.)
(2) Affected area boundary markers: The boundaries of the affected area will be marked
with monuments that are clearly visible. This is proposed as an 112c Regular Operations
operation. Therefore, the permit boundary and the affected area boundary may not
necessarily be the same. In addition, the Operator/Applicant is proposing a floating bond to
cover various portions of the mine site, allowing mining and reclamation to be on-going.
{3) Alternative methods of affected area boundary identification: At this time the
Operator/Applicant plans to mark the affected area boundary with monuments.
This ends the requirements o, f Section 3.1, Reclamation Performance Standards The
narrative will resume with the remainder of Section 6.4.5.
Continuation of the Reclamation Plan:
6.4.5(2){d) Where applicable, the Operator/Applicant has developed plans for the
segregation, preservation, replacement, compaction, and grading of soil used for
revegetation. The Revegetation Plan will contain a list of preferred plant species to be
planted following the recommendation of the MRCS Field Office. (Please see Exhibit "T')
The selected species for erosion control and site stabilization should all be readily available
~ commercial materials.
Seedbed preparation was covered in Section 3.1.10(5) of this document.
(e) Reclamation Schedule: The reclamation schedule is described in the previous
Sections of this document, specifically in Sections 3.1.3 and 3.1.5(4). To further elaborate,
the first part of reclamation will begin prior to mining. The site will be prepared for
installation of the slurry wall. The slurry wall will be installed. The site will then proceed to
the mining phase as discussed earlier and below. Mining will be done in phase as discussed
in the Mining Plan and as shown on the Mining Plan Map, Exhibit "C". Reclamation will
fallow each phase of mining and will include in-slope stabilization. The perimeter of the
excavations will be reclaimed upon the conclusion of mining in each of the East and West
Pits.
(i) An estimate of the periods of time which will be required for the various
phases: Dependent on market demand the entire operation is expected to last from 20 to
25 years. Phase 0 is the installation of the slurry wall in the East and possibly the West Pits.
Following this initial phase the East Pit will be dewatered so that excavation may begin in
Stage 1, Phase I, then Phase II, III and'IV.
Prior to .Stage 2, Phase V beginning in the West Pit, the slurry wall will be installed and the
enclosed area dewatered so that a dry mining operation may proceed.
