We anticipate such backfilling occurring for the life of the
pit.
It is necessary to utilize offsite inert fill to backfill the pit area in order to achieve
contours consistent with the reclamation plan. There is simply not enough oveo-
burden on site to backfill without importing inert fill, and we generate such
material fi~um local construction and site development contracts.
The inert fill will be placed in approximately two-foot lifts witb a crawler type
dozer. The majority of the 611 is dirt with broken concrete and rock making up
the balance. 'Ibis enables the concrete and rock to be surrounded with dirt,
minimizing settling due to voids.
6550 So.
