land acreages existing during each phase. Within each phase the
Table shows the number of newly affected acres, affected acres
buried by the advancing tailing, affected acres existing at phase
end and a cumulative total of affected acres. Table 2 . 1 also
shows the number of acres reclaimed during each phase and a
cumulative total.
Mining and Reclamation Phase Maps (Appendix I) have
been drawn to graphically illustrate the time sequence of the
changing acreages for the affected and reclaimed lands. Each
affected parcel or acreage of land shown on the maps is coded and
referenced in the text by a number or letter as described in
Section 6. , DISTURBANCES. Phase I essentially indicates the
present status of Climax lands as affected, non-affected and
• reclaimed. Phases II through V indicates the changing land
status in relation to mining and reclamation activities until
mining is expected to cease during the year 2015. Phase VI map
illustrates the final physical appearance of the Climax property.
2. 2 ORE BODY
The Climax ore body is a large, near-surface, stock-
works type deposit. The Ceresco Upper and Lower Ore Bodies
comprise the deposit (Figure 4. 1) . The ore bodies are arcuate in
section and circular in plan and are stacked one above the other
with a remaining portion of the Ceresco Ore Body being the highest.
Known mineable ore extends from the surface. of Ceresco
Ridge (approximately the 12 , 500 foot elevation) down to an elevation
2-3
