MINING PLAN
EXHIBIT D (CONY)
Mining equipment may include but is not limited to, front-
end loaders, scrapers, motor graders, track-hoes, bulldozers,
dump trucks and a water truck.
MINING PLAN
Mining will start in 2008 after all permits are obtained and
run from 2 to 4 years depending on the amount of materia avail-
able and market demands. Mining will begin in the northwest part
of the site where the gravel is the deepest. Then move east and
south until all the gravel is removed. The mine will be operated
as a wet operation and the necessary Temporary Substitute Supply
Plan will be obtained from the Office of the State Engineer prior
to exposing water. Backfilling will begin as soon as enough area
has been opened so the refilling activities will not interfere
with mining. No blasting will take place on this mine.
A small Plant Site area may be used to process material
but most likely the material will just be hauled to an offsite
plant for processing and sale. This off site plant is located
within the boundaries of another permitted mine. The topsoil
will be stripped from the, Plant Site area before constructing the
plant and will be stockpiled for use in reclamation..
A track-hoe will be used to remove material and a near
vertical face will be worked across the width of a given area.
The MINING PLAN MAP shows how the concurrent filling will follow
mining. As the limits of mine are reached, the slopes will be
mined 2h to lv from surface to the shale. This will leave a
stable embankment of material to protect the water storage
facility on the west and north sides of the mined. As noted
above, backfilling will begin as soon as possible so the time the
hole is open is limited. Along the affected lands/permit line
the setback will be 25 feet. Our plan to mine the perimeter by
leaving slopes adjacent to any structure will eliminate any
chance that these structures will be affected by mining. This
means leaving some gravel but will insure the integrity of the
banks until filling is complete. MAP EXHIBIT C AND EXHIBITS contain
information on all structures within 200 feet of the mined area.
Track-hoes, front-end loaders, haul trucks and scrapers will
remove material from the working face and floor of the mine. It
will be hauled to the processing plant or loaded into trucks for
delivery to the off site processing plant.
As mining progresses across the property, additional area
will be stripped ahead of the mine face and the topsoil needed
will be stockpiled for use when reclamation begins.
