' CHRISTOPHER J. FASCHING, P.E.
' Page Two
o South Brighton Area Study -identify short-range improvements and along-range transportation
' plan to handle future projected growth in the Brighton and Commerce City azea. The short-range
work included compiling traffic volumes and accident data to identify capacity deficiencies and
safety hazards, creating collision diagrams from compiled data, recommending mitigation
1 measures based on the collision diagrams, and estimating the accident reduction and cost savings
as a result of recommended improvements. Long-range work included computer modeling using
MinUTP, and highway capacity analyses to evaluate network alternatives.
' o Burnt Mountain EIS - support an Environmental Impact Statement being prepared by the U.S.
Forest Service for a proposed ski area expansion in 5nowmass Village. Work performed
' included itemizing trip purposes and quantifying trips due to existing and future ski areas and
developments. Analyses were performed to evaluate the impacts of the ski area expansion and
associated development on the surrounding road system, parking requirements, transit needs, and
' airport capacity.
o Interstate 25 in Colorado Springs -determine the feasibility and need to widen the freeway
' through the City. Work included compiling existing daily and peak hour traffic volumes along
the freeway and at interchange ramp intersections, projecting future traffic volumes along the
freeway and at interchange ramp intersections, compiling and reviewing accident statistics,
' various capacity analyses, and interchange alternative evaluations.
o Interstate 25 in Denver from 6th Avenue South to Lincoln Avenue -determine the feasibility and
need to widen the interstate. Work included field observation of traffic signals to obtain phase
t sequence and timings, intersection capacity analyses of existing conditions, and, interchange
alternative analyses utilizing TRANSYT-7F.
' o Vail Transportation Study which included extensive analysis of: the I-70 interchanges and
roadway network, public parking characteristics, the Town transit system, the Vail Village
delivery system, pedestrization within Central Vail, and the bicycle/pedestrian trails system
' through Town.
o US 85 Corridor Study -identify needed short range and long range roadway improvements along
' 49 miles of US 85 north of Denver. Work included compiling and summarizing existing traffic
volumes, intersection levels of service, accident data, and the roadway inventory along the entire
stretch of highway. The long range work included computer modeling using MinUTP to identify
t the future demand of highway.
o Traffic impact analysis studies throughout the Denver metropolitan azea dealing with commercial
' and residential development. Mr. Fasching has also been involved in traffic studies dealing with
unique development such as churches, quarry activity, and mountain development near ski areas.
' o Eighth Avenue Corridor Safety Study in Greeley -Identify safety and operational deficiencies
along the corridor and recommend mitigation measures to enhance the safety and capacity of
Eighth Avenue. Work included compiling statistics and collison diagrams to identify accident
patterns, conducting intersection capacity analyses at selected locations, identify improvement
alternatives to alleviate perceived hazardous locations, and recommend the best roadway
improvement (short range and long range) for each selected location based on a detailed
alternative compazison analysis.
