7. Soil Stockpiles <br />As a result of the drainage and sediment control <br />facility construction described above and the haul <br />road construction described below, three new soil <br />stockpiles were constructed during the year, resulting <br />in an additional azea affected by soil stockpiles of <br />2.55 acres. <br />There aze now a total of nine soil stockpiles located <br />oa the Kerr Mine Area, covering a total of 18.03 <br />acres. They aze shown on the attached 1987 Reclama- <br />tion flap . <br />8. Overburden Stockpiles <br />No new overburden stockpiles were created during the <br />year. Ia excess of 400,000 compacted cubic yazds of <br />overburden were hauled from the 52.49 acre Existing <br />Overburden Stockpile and backfilled into the 720 Pit, <br />but this activity resulted in ao reduction in the <br />aerial extent of the pile shown on the attached 1987 <br />Reclamation Yap. <br />9. Surface Facilities and Roads <br />As shown on the attached 1987 Reclamation Yap, the <br />surface facilities azea covers 13.76 acres and the <br />haul and access roads cover a total 26.45 acres. <br />During late 1986 and eazly 1987, the haul road cros- <br />sing between Pit No. 1 and the planned Pit No. 2 area <br />was constructed. This road affected 2.45 acres and is <br />shown on the attached 1987 Reclamation Yap. <br />-4- <br />
