-r <br />PHC: Groundwater inflow into the mine will be very low. <br />In the AHR it is simply stated that flows are low and the mine is "essentially dry." A preferred <br />method would be to report the flows, even if the quantities are less than the predicted 5 to 10 <br />gpm. So based on the data in the AHR, it is assumed the that inFlows are very low, but <br />quantification is impossible. <br />PHC: The local groundwater table may be lowered as mining proceeds. <br />This prediction has been demonstrated. For example, the well clusters at 32-7 and 33-8 both <br />experienced lowered water levels as mining entered that area. <br />PHC: Mine inflows are prediced to not exceed 5 to 10 gpm. <br />As stated above, this can't be confirmed, as the data were not presented. <br />PHC: The impact on groundwater quality will be minimal. <br />Water quality monitoring of groundwater wells was not required in 2000. <br />If you have any questions, please call me. <br />Sincerely, <br />Jim Burnell <br />Environmental Protection Specialist. <br />
