On-site vegetation features big sagebrush, oak brush, serviceberry, snowberry, needlegrasses,
and lupine.
Permanent Man-Made Structures
There are no permanent man made structures within the vicinity of this proposed construction
materials mine. The private road supplies access to the mine. There are no above or below
ground communication lines, fences, bridges, wells, pipelines, water storage impoundments,
railroad tracks, cemeteries or communication antennas within 200 feet of the affected lands.
Water Resources
There are no water structures on the site. The closest drainages are Circle Dot Gulch and Sheep
Kill Gulch, running along the north and south of the site, respectively. Both Circle Dot and
Sheep Kill Gulches are about'/4 mile from the site, and about 300 feet lower than the site. Both
drain into Red Gulch, a tributary of West Fork and Parachute Creek, and ultimately the Colorado
River.
Mining will not reach the ground water table so there will not be any exposed water in the mine.
Surface or subsurface water will not be impacted by this mining operation. This mine will not
affect the hydrologic balance of the surface or subsurface water in the area. This site has been
designed to protect surface waters and groundwater. Runon, runoff and erosion control measures
at the site will be managed according to the Stormwater Management Plan that has been created
specifically for this site.
E07147 PAGE 4 OF 16 CORDILLERAN COMPLIANCE SERVICES, INC
CIRCLE DOT QUARRY GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO
