BATTLE MOUNTAIN GOLD COMPANY
INTEROFFICE CORRESPONDENCE
May 7, 1991
To: G. C. Dodson
From: J.C. Lenz
Subject: April Monthly Operating Report
1. Mill Operations
1.1 Crushing and Grindinq
!~
BATTLE MOUNVUN
GOLD COMPANY
The crusher experienced one major shutdown during the
month of April to change the belt on CV-O1. The mill
continued to operate at reduced tonnage during this
shutdown. Probable cause of the belt tear was an impact
idler clip that had been disfigured.
25,471 wet tons of ore were ground during April.
Operating availability of the plant was a disappointing
33.9. Major downtime was caused by a damage assesment
of the ball mill ring and pinion gears, re-configuration
of the LCI drive on the SAG mill, and by defective
reactors in the harmonic filters. Mill operations at
reduced tonnage resumed on April 29th.
1.2 Leaching and Adsorption
Calculated feed grades were 0.0389 Au oz/ton and 0.0708
Ag oz/ton. Solid tails were 0.0045 Au oz/ton and 0.0442
Ag oz/ton. Gold and silver recoveries respectively were
88.43$ and 37.57.
1.3 Tailings Impoundment
The reclaim water pumps were commissioned this month.
Minor work remains to be done to the fencing at the
seepage collection pond.
1.4 Desorption and Refining
