N <br />RECEIVED <br />FEB 2 5 1003 <br />Division of Minerals artd Geolosp <br />This annual report addresses mining of both material being removed from the site. Each is <br />mined by a different operator using this single permit. This pit HAS NOT been granted a Temporary <br />Cessation and it HAS operated more than 180 days this yeaz. The approved bond amount is $84,200 <br />covering 75.74 acres f, and the facility has seven mining and reclamation phases. Anew gravel <br />mining company started removing material in November 2002, so gravel mining has resumed a this <br />site. Please refer to the attached 2002 Annual Report Map for the azeas discussed in this text. <br />We will deal specifically with the Annual Report requirements as outlined in Rule 1.15 of the <br />Rules and Regulations and those noted in the annual letter. <br />(1) Clay - No new azea was disturbed by the clay mining operation this yeaz. We wntinued to <br />aline deeper on the land previously disturbed (blue) north of the ditches in Stage II. Approxi- <br />mately 23.21 acres is disturbed by the clay operation in Stages O, I and II. This included the <br />old clay mined azea south of the ditches, the Clay Plant Site (purple) and the storage area <br />(tan). A small azea of 0.35 acres was mined in azea stripped in previous yeazs (//~. In this <br />azea the floor of the clay aline was lowered. <br />Gravel -Mining resumed this late yeaz. A total of 12.75 acres bas been stripped in Stage A <br />to prepaze it for mining (orange). This azea was expanded by 0.81 acres along the southeast <br />side of Stage A mazked with the following hatching (//~. The gravel operation has disturbed <br />23.03 acres t in the mine. Some waste rock was removed for use by the mineral owners <br />from the southwest prelaw stockpile azea. <br />(2) No reclamation was required this year. Filling continued on the old clay mining azea in the <br />green azea on the north end of Stage O. No additional reclamation is required until mining <br />for both materials is completed in any given stage. Part of the required sight berm was <br />installed with revegetation material along the south side of Stages A & D. This is required by <br />the county permit. <br />
