S'
~..
Mr. Jim Stover, P.E.
J.E. Stover & Associates
Page 2
October 3, 1996
description of the type of sounding device used to measure water levels in
wells DH-60 and DH-65. No revised report page is necessary.
3. Deviations from the approved monitoring program were noted for wells MW-
1 and MW-3. Water quality parameters were not collected for these wells
during the first quarter of 1995. If available, please provide these data in
revised report tables.
The Division has the following comments concerning the Annual Mine Inflow Report.
1. On page 3 under Hydrologic Impacts, it states that there was virtually no
w ter inflow into the mine. On page 3 under Conclusions, it states that the
pr~sent estimated inflow rate remains at less than 1,000,000 gallons. Please
re se the information contained on page 3 to be consistent between the two
se~tions and submit a revised report page.
2. Stipulation No. 29 requires that the Mine Inflow Report includes a mine
workings map showing the location and quantity of inflows; a table keyed to
the mine map which shall contain the source, quantity, duration and quality
of fall measurable inflows. To ensure continued compliance, please continue
to ~~nonitor the mine inflows encountered. For the 1996 Mine Inflow Report,
please include a mine inflow map with the required information.
3. Th'F report states that water importation is estimated from recorded flows and
rel~ted tonnages at the mine from September of 1985 through April of 1986.
H wever, Stipulation No. 29 requires that the report include a table
containing records of water imported for use within the mine. For the 1996
Annual Mine Inflow Report, please include a table containing the required
Thank you for your cooperation.
